HONG KONG 1914. Holder of Certificate of Exemption (one of the first 13 listed in the Government Gazette 1915) under the Dentistry Ordinance, 1914 [1] to practice dentistry September 20, 1915 - 1940 [2]. Private practitioner June 1914-40, address: Hong Kong Bank Building 1937-40.
[1] Certificates of Exemption were issued to dental practitioners who lacked the academic qualifications recognized by the Dental Board (essentially the General Medical Council in UK) to qualify to register. Generally speaking, only qualifications awarded by institutions located on the Britain Isles or in British Overseas Territories were recognized.
[2] The Dental Register 1941 is not available; it is unknown whether or not it actually exists.
